On 23 November, the Perm Region and the Russian Trading Company in China Hua No E Xiang (RTC) signed a contract. Support will be provided to Perm enterprises to promote non-resource non-energy exports to China and to attract Chinese investors to the Prikamye region. The document was signed by Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Perm Region, and Artyom Sharov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Trading Company in China, Hua No E Xian.
“China is one of the key partners of the Prikamye region and ranks second in terms of trade turnover. Cooperation with RTK will open up new opportunities for Perm manufacturers to promote their products in the Chinese markets. In addition to fertilisers, chemical industry products, mechanical equipment and machinery, the Perm Region can offer Chinese consumers food products,” said Dmitry Makhonin.
The Governor noted that the agreement may be promising for the region’s developed woodworking and paper industries, which need to be promoted.
Under the agreement, regional authorities and RTK specialists plan to assist representatives of Perm businesses in entering the Chinese market or increasing their presence, as well as in finding promising niches and directions for new exports to China.
The cooperation format provides for information, consulting and organisational support for entrepreneurs aimed at effective interaction with Chinese companies and organisations in various sectors.
The partnership also provides for the attraction of Chinese investors to the region, including for the implementation of projects in industrial, transport and tourism infrastructure.
