In October, industrial production increased by 3.8% compared to the previous month. Compared to October 2019, the index value has decreased by 5.9%, while in the first ten months of 2020 industrial production has decreased by 3.1% compared to the period from January to October 2019. 

At the same time, the chemicals and products manufacturing index in October increased by 2.9% compared to September this year. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the increase was 7.1%. As a result of January-October, the chemical production index increased by 6.3%.

Benzene was produced in October in the amount of 106 thousand tonnes, which is 7.7% less than last year and 14.8% more than last month. In just ten months, 1113.6 thousand tonnes were produced – 0.7% more than in 2019.

857 thousand tonnes of all primary plastics were produced, an increase of 0.4% over the previous month, and by October 2019 growth was 22.5%. Primary plastics production increased by 17% in just ten months.

282 thousand tonnes of Polyethylene were produced in October, which is 22.5% more than in 2019 but 0.4% more than the previous month. A total of 2810 thousand tonnes of PE were produced in January-October, an increase of 55.1% over the same period in 2019. The high growth is explained by the launch of Zapsibneftekhim, which was launched in the autumn of last year.

Production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in September 2020 was 93.6 thousand tonnes, 2.2% less than in 2019 and 0.5% less than last month. In just ten months, 870.9 thousand tonnes of PVC were produced – only 0.3% more than in 2019.

The output of polycarbonate, simple and complex polyesters, alkyd and epoxy resins in the reporting month was 52.6 thousand tonnes – 27.7% more than in October and 5.3% less than in the previous month. A total of 592.1 thousand tonnes of raw materials were produced in January-October, which is 5.7% more than in 2019.

Production of polystyrene (PS) in June was 51.5 thousand tonnes, 3.6% more than in September last year, but only 0.9% more than last month. In the ten months of 2020, 483.5 thousand tonnes of PS were produced, 4.9% more than in the same period last year.

Production of polyamide (PA) in October reached 14.4 thousand tonnes, an increase of 1.5% compared to last year and an 11.4% increase compared to last month. In just ten months, 130.7 thousand tonnes of material were produced, which is 7.9% less than last year.

Synthetic rubber production in October increased by 16.7% compared to September to 143 thousand tonnes, an increase of 13.2% compared to October 2019. A total of 1166.9 thousand tonnes of rubbers were produced in the period from January to October this year, an increase of only 0.9% compared to 2019.
